Rylan's first word was Dada. How devestating is that? I spent so much more time with him, I carried him for 9 months. I changed more poopy diapers I got up all hours of the night with him and his first word was DADA. Ugh...
Well now all my hard work paid off. Colton's first word is Mama! I didn't want to get my hopes up and I told myself that he was just babbling but now I'm certain that he has actual words that mean something! When I call for Ry, Colton says RARA! (Ryry) He also says Dada, and ba (ball) There is a snowball decoration on the tree that Colton loves to play with. When he looks at the tree he says "ba" asking for the snowball. He also calls all his other balls "ba"
He's the happiest funniest baby I've ever met.

2013 highlights
I tried to keep a blog to remember my kids as they grew up, but turns out taking care of three kids doesn't leave much time for blogging... add a full time job and really I don't have time to blink.
To sum it all up this year has been nothing short of amazing. Within the first few days we welcomed Ms. Kaylin Ava into the world and she is our sweet little Bailey Boo. The boys love her and she loves them. They annoy her, and she is just starting to fight them back, she still doesn't walk but she cruises around the furniture and the moment you turn your back she crawls to the kitchen to get the cat food or the bathroom to get the cat's water bowl. Ry went to pre-school for his second year and now knows all his letters and knows how to read. He's so smart and keeps us on our toes. Colton is the sweetest most loving two year old you'll ever meet. He's almost potty trained but his obsession with the ipad can be a major distraction and causes some accidents.
The boys say such funny things every day and I haven't been able to post them in this blog like I originally planned. Luckily I have time to jot down quick quotes in Facebook and through my "get old statuses" app I can get some highlights of the last year
12/27/12- I asked ry to tell auntie Katie what he got for Christmas. He told her he got two bows and arrows. I asked him "what's that big thing in the middle of the living room?" thinking he'd tell her about the jeep. He said "a big mess"
12/30/12- Rex asked Ry "who takes care of you?" Ry said "I take care of myself!" so Rex told him to go to the store buy food, get a job to buy a house or live in a cardboard box. Ry asked why people live in a cardboard box and Rex explained of you don't have money you live in a cardboard box. Ry said "jack in the box's parents don't have money so he lives in a box"
1/30/13-Ry and I are watching tv and he says "I don't like them, I don't HATE them but I just don't like them" I told him that he needs a reason for not liking someone because it will hurt someone's feelings. He said "well the reason is I just don't like them. Is that a good reason?"
2/24/13-I asked Colty today "who's cute and naughty?" he said "Ry-ry!" and Ry's response "NO! I'm just cute"
3/3/13-me: Colty, what do you want for dinner? Colty: dessert
4/4/13-Rex was playing w a pirate and said "arrrrgh I'm a pirate" Colty said "noooo that not pirate, he a nice guy!"
4/30/13-Today I got home from work and heard Ry in his room and a "clink clink clink" I asked him what he was doing, he said "putting money in my piggy bank" I went to the kitchen to do some dishes, and I came out and still heard "clink clink clink" we don't have THAT much change laying around so i went to see what he was doing and saw that he had emptied an entire bank on the floor and was filling his big one, I told him "buddy, you shouldnt play with money it's dirty" he said "I know Mommy, but I'm putting all my money in this bank so I can give it to you and you can buy a new car" what a sweet boy, I DO need a new car
5/4/13-Colty heard the Mexican ice cream cart jingle by, he yelled, "that's tinker bell! I'm gonna go catch it!"
6/19/13-Rylan points to our CO detector and asks what it is, Rex tells him it's a CO detector and Ry asked him "what does it do? tell us when zombies are coming?"
6/24/13-Me: Colty did you poopoo in your diaper? Colty: nooooooo Me: what did I tell you about not lying to Mommy? Colty: I not lying!... I kidding
8/14/13-Ry said, "if tick toc croc didn't swallow the clock, he'd just be croc"
8/21/13-Me: were you good today? Ry: :::nods yes::: Me: do I need to call auntie Melissa and ask her? Ry:... Well... I was halfway good
8/24/13-Watching Alice in Wonderland, Ry says of the white rabbit "he sounds like Mr. Smee!"
9/16/13-Ry: do you know why ghosts are scary? Me: no, why? Ry: how should I know! You're the scientist!!!!
10/5/13-Rex was up on the roof cleaning the gutters. Colty stood on the ground screaming up at him, "don't jump daddy!!"
10/27/13-Colty is STILL awake and he said "My teacher said I don't have to go to bed" I told him I'd ask his teacher and she's going to tell me she didn't say that and he's going to be in trouble... oh yeah he doesn't have a teacher
11/4/13-I sing "Hush Little Baby" to the kids every night... Ry asked me tonight "why does the mommy keep buying all this broken stuff?"
11/29/13-Ugh. Hid my bag of black Friday Toys R Us purchases in my closet and Ry sounded it out "tooooyyyysss r us, toys r us?! What's in this bag? Is it for me???"
12/31/13- I just made some popcorn and immediately the boys jumped up and asked me for some. I said, "no this is mommy only popcorn!" Colty said, "no mom! This is BOY popcorn, don't eat it! It make you sick!"
Also I'm remembering that this year Ry was naughty again (like always) but Santa didn't put coal in his stocking. (Last year he colored on Mommy and Daddy's bed with a black sharpie on Christmas Eve, Santa filled his stocking with coal and hid his real presents for him to find if he said he was sorry) This year his stocking was filled with toys and Ry said "I TOLD you Santa isn't real!" I said "what do you mean? didn't you get what you wanted?" he said "yeah! he didn't give me coal! and I was a naughty boy!"

The joys of having pets
This morning I was cooking breakfast in the kitchen and the boys were playing outside while Kaylie played in her exersaucer. I heard Rex yell to the kids, "Ry-ry! Colty! Meowzer caught you a lizard!!!" Meowzer has been known to bring us "presents" if we get mad at him or if we run out of his food. (We figure he thinks we're struggling to feed ourselves, thats why we can't feed him so he brings some food to help out)
I thought to myself "ugh I SOOOO don't want my kids playing with a dead lizard" I figured they'd look at it and poke at it with a stick, as boys and grown men tend to do. A few minutes later Rex came in the kitchen and said that Ry and Colty were playing with a lizard. "Are you kidding me? it's alive?!?!" Apparently Meowzer really DID catch a lizard.
Meowzer was sitting on the grass and called out to Rex. Rex went over to see what he wanted and saw that he was holding a small alligator lizard under his paw. When Rex called to Ry and Colty and they went running Meowzer released the poor little guy and he tried to escape. Too bad for the lizard Ry caught him. The boys held him and carried him around the yard for a while, until I called them to come in for breakfast. Ry said he wanted to keep him and I told him he had to put him back in the grass so he could go back to his mommy and daddy. Ry said "but he IS the daddy or mommy!" so I told him that he better put him back so he could get back to his babies, and Ry still didn't want to put him back, so I tried to get Ry to understand that he wouldnt want someone to take his daddy away from him and never let him go. That message hit home so he put him in the grass to wash up for breakfast

My sweet boy
The other day I came home from work and heard a *clink clink clink* coming from Ry's room, I asked what he was doing and he said "I'm putting money in my piggy bank" I went to do dishes and when I was finished I heard some more *clink clink clink* I went into his room and saw that he had a pile of change on the floor and was putting it in his big piggy bank. I said to him, "Buddy, you shouldn't play with money, it's dirty" he said, "I know Mommy, but I'm taking all the money out of my little bank and putting it in my big one so I can give it to you and you can buy a new car."
Back in November I was rear ended and my car got totaled, since then I've been driving Rex's old pickup truck and I had just been thinking that I needed to get a new car soon since summer is coming and the A/C isn't the best.
These kids just make life worth living with the little things they do and say. Just this afternoon the ice cream cart went walking by jingling its bells. Colty said "thats tinkerbell! I'm gonna go get it" and went to run outside. We're going to Disneyland next weekend and I asked Colty who he wanted to see there, he said "Minnie Mouse, I'ma kiss her"

Rylan ponderings
Ry was sitting on the toilet looking at a blister on his hand. He asked if he ripped the skin off would it grow back. I told him it would take a few days but his hand would grow some new skin. He then asked, "how come if I cut off my arm, I can't grow a new one?" I didn't want to get into details with stem cells and all that so I said that arms are too big and he can't grow new bones and an arm needs bones. Then he said "If I was a starfish I could grow a new arm"

Santa is watching
I thought that for at least the month of December when our elf on the shelf was around, I'd be able to threaten Ry and Colty with "Santa is watching you, so you'd better be good" Rylan was in complete disbelief and he's always bad and I can't get him to listen EVER... So I thought I'd get smart and get the iPhone app that has Santa call you when they're naughty. There is also a feature where the kids can call Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. This morning I had Ry call Santa to tell him what he wanted and Santa said "I know you've been good this year" Ry turns to me and said, "SEE!!! I told you he can't see me!!!" because anybody knows that Ry has NOT been good this year. LOL

I'm such a mean mommy
In preparation for my spa day on Sunday, I epilady'd my legs. (for those of you who don't know the epilady is a hair removal device that has these spinning tweezer things and I use it in between waxings) I dumped the removed hair in the toilet and the next morning when Ry saw the hair he asked why it was there. I told him that Mommy cut some hair and put it in the toilet. He looked up at me and said, "is it because I play with your hair?" I felt so sad for him, he looked so sad and guilty. He's always playing with my hair and getting his sticky fingers in it and it drives me CRAZY.
This halloween Rex and I dressed up as hippies for a party we went to. We of course were sporting the traditional peace sign necklaces. Driving home on 101 the other day Rylan shouted out "LOOK A HIPPIE!!!" I of course did not see any hippies in the middle of the freeway. Yesterday we were making that same drive and at the same spot Rylan yelled again "LOOK A HIPPIE!!!" this time I notice that we're right next to Autobahn Motors... a MERCEDES dealership. I guess the Mercedes logo DOES look like a peace sign... Also anyone with an afro is also a hippie in Ry's eyes.

Who's the boss?
Meowzer was sittig on the fireplace when Ry told him, "GET DOWN"I looked at him with a look that clearly said "who says you're the boss?" He looked right back at me (as Meowzer jumped off the fireplace) and he said, "I'm Meowzer's mommy so I telled him to get off"

Macaroni and cheese
For you Ms. Alanna!
I don't measure so much so sorry for the funky measurements
a bunch of mushrooms (I like shitake the best, and by bunch I mean use however much you want)
a little more than half a thingey of bacon (I think they come in 12oz packs)
one onion cut in half and then sliced thin
splash of white wine (whatever you have in the fridge)
1 quart scalded milk (I use 2% because that's generally what I have but whole tastes better)
1/2c flour
6T butter
12oz. Gruyere cheese (I just buy like a pound in brick form and shred it)
4 cups any kind of cheese (I buy pre-shredded Mexican blend and have it on hand at all times so this is usually what I use)
EVOO
salt
pepper
nutmeg
1lb pasta take two minutes off the cooking time (to make it "healthy" I use whole grain and no one notices because its smothered in cheese)
buttered panko/Italian breadcrumbs (I use progresso Italian breadcrumbs and mix in panko. They sell an italian panko breadcrumb but I like the texture with regular breadcrumbs mixed in too)
the way I do it only uses two pots (one for milk and one to make pasta and cheese sauce) and one pan but you can do this all faster using more pans...
caramelize the onion in a little bit of EVOO (not fully caramelized you're going to cook it more later), this takes forever so start them first and then chop the rest of your stuff. Clean and slice mushrooms, grate cheese, chop bacon... are the onions done yet? If not pour yourself a glass of wine.. once the onions are almost a caramel color remove from pan and toss bacon in. Cook the bacon until crispy. This takes a while too so grab a magazine. Once the bacon is crisp use a slotted spoon and drain on paper towel (or not, if you want to leave the fat there go ahead) Cook mushrooms and onions in bacon fat. Once the mushrooms are softened add a splash (a big splash) of white wine. Cook until wine is mostly absorbed and set aside.
In the pot you boiled the pasta in melt butter, add flour and cook 3 min, slowly whisk in hot milk and cook until slightly thickened. Add a big dash of nutmeg, a pinch each of salt and pepper (I think my pinches are about a T.) Slowly add cheeses stirring with a wooden spoon (you should have the cheese sitting out at room temp while you cook and they'll melt faster) once all cheese is incorporated add bacon, mushrooms, onion and pasta and mix well.
Pour into baking dish and top with buttered breadcrumbs (melt 2T butter in bowl and toss in breadcrumbs, 1c of each type depending on how much surface area you have, I like lots of crunchy topping so I do a big baking dish 9x13 I think)
bake at 350 until hot and bubbly and toasty on top

The other night we were driving to meet some friends for dinner at cheesecake factory and now that its getting dark earlier, it was dark by dinner time. The trees lining the street were covered with lights. Rylan voiced what was in my head "oohhhh how BEAUTIFUL" I smiled at his sweet innocent voice taking in the simple joys in life.
Last Saturday I made my usual weekend breakfast of banana pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. Since its been a while that I've been able to enjoy a meal without having to get up to get someone some more of this that and whatever, I decided to lay out everything on the dining room table. I call everyone to breakfast and when Ry sees the spread he said "Oh wow thats BEAUTIFUL!" The kid was truly moved by bacon and eggs.
Yesterday I was getting ready to go out to dinner for a friends birthday and I was using a curling iron to straighten my hair. When I released a curl Ry said "ohhhh what is that? are you going to do it again?" I said "it's a curl buddy, and yep I'm going to do a few more." At this point I rolled up another section of hair and released it "see?" I showed off my curl to Ry. He said "thats beaut-... oh not yet" He wasnt too impressed with half a head of curls
Today I went to get a massage with my sister in law down on Santana Row and we got kara's cupcakes. When I got home Ry ran up to me at the front door and asked "what did you bring me mom?" I happened to be carrying a bag with dinner and the cupcakes were on top of that. Ry noticed (of course) the pinkbox and exclaimed, "Cupcakes!!!!!!!" he wanted to show me the cupcakes and of course when I opened the box he said "oh thats BEAUTIFUL!" I had to agree

Flying with two kids under three
My cousin recently got married in OH and I haven't seen various cousins or aunts and uncles since I got married in '07, so of course I jumped at the chance to fly over there and see everyone. Rex didn't really want to go and we didn't have the money to fly us all out there anyway so he got to stay home. Since Rex wasn't coming my mom reluctantly volunteered to help me take the boys on the plane.
We flew Delta and they charge $25 for the first checked bag and $35 for the 2nd but you can have one carry on and one personal item per person. Rather than pay $50 roundtrip for a big bag I thought that since I had to pay for Ry, and he gets a carry on plus personal item, I'd just cram everything we need into two carry on bags. Which in theory would totally work. My mom ended up checking a bag and I put two dresses plus a small cooler of frozen milk in her bag. But everything else I was able to cram into those carry on suitcases (I'm pretty impressed at myself for packing two children plus myself into those small bags and my mom had to use a giant suitcase plus carry on for herself)
So there we were Rex dropped us off curbside and it was my mom, myself carrying Colton in the front pack, Rylan in a small umbrella stroller... and our luggage. We had one large bag, three carry on suitcases, three personal items (large backpack for me, small backpack for Ry and a tote for my mom) sweatshirts for me and my mom, blankets for the boys, and two carseats. We got a cart to take us to the check in counter, and checked in ONE carseat and ONE large bag... which meant we still had three carry ons, three personal items, sweatshirts, blankets, a stroller and one carseat... and we had to get this all through security. The people in the security line were very friendly and let us go through the family line so we didnt wait in the big long line (what a relief) My mom is such a stress case though and tried to rush through the whole thing just throwing things on the conveyor belt. She worried too much about people behind us and it just made me more agitated. From the point of us having to break everything down; taking out our liquid ziplocks, laptops, taking off jewelry, taking colton out of the carrier, taking shoes off, it must have been at least a 30 minute process getting everything put back together.
The flight was good, it was a full flight and they asked for volunteers to check their bags (for free) and we jumped on the opportunity because we knew it would be a nightmare getting the bags on the plane. My aunt also caught the same flight we did so she could help with the baby wrangling. We caught a redeye and both kids slept through most of it. Ry cried about halfway through wanting to get out of his carseat, so I let him out for a bit and he got to sleep on my lap. Once we got to Ohio my sisters were there waiting at the airport for us so they got to help us carry our luggage and kids.
You would think that having such a traumatic experience wised us up for the flight home and we would pay the $25 to check our bags... nope.. we struggled through security all over again, and even worse we didn't check our bags at the gate and had to struggle down the plane with ALL that luggage. Luckily my aunt took the same flight home as well and she helped a LOT. As soon as we got home I told Rex "when we go to disneyland we are CHECKING our luggage" At least we're flying southwest and the first checked bags are free.

the missing keys
Last week on my day off with the boys Ry and Colton were both being especially devilish. I thought that I must have been overtired because REALLY could they be THAT bad?? But no they really were THAT bad. Ry was having fun taking small toys and putting them in various boxes, drawers and back packs. I was preoccupied with cleaning and taking care of Colton, so I was just glad that he was keeping himself busy in that moment. It was pretty cute because he was even pretending that he was cooking his toys. On one trip to the kitchen I noticed that Ry had my car keys in a drawer. I grabbed them out and said "Don't play with Mommy's keys! They're not a toy!" he said "HEY!!! I was cooking that!" I was annoyed and put the keys on the table and walked away.
Later that night (around midnight) I started getting my things together to start work the next day. When I was getting my purse together I realized that I didnt have my car keys. I immediately went to the drawer that I saw Ry putting them in earlier. They werent there. I went through all the little boxes that he was hiding his toys in, no dice. I went through the other drawers that he put toys in, I found some random cars but no stinkin keys! I turned the entire kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, bathroom UPSIDE DOWN and still NO FRIGGIN KEYS! I even take the garbage bag out and jiggle it to see if I hear keys. I dug through one layer got grossed out and quit there. Rex was annoyed at me at this point because I was making so much noise and had the audacity to turn the hall light on so I could see into our bedroom and search near my bed. (no keys there either) I took my cell phone and lit up the drawer in Rylan's end table, still no stinking keys. I'm completely stressed and tired at this point and pretty much have a nervous breakdown, and I just go to bed. In the morning I still can't find my keys and I take Rex's beat up pickup to work. (which puts me in an even worse mood because the thing drives like crap)
Once at work I call Rex and ask him if he interrogated Rylan when he woke up (he was still sleeping when I left) and Ry said he remembered playing with them but didnt know where he put them. GREAT. At this point I figure its a lost cause, I assume they're long gone in the garbage or something, so I call Mitsubishi to see about getting a new key. They told me I have to have my car TOWED to them so they can match the microchip. This just keeps getting better and better right? There's no way I'm towing my car 20 miles so they can get a stinkin microchip, so I say that I'll wait until the weekend and if I still can't find the dang things I'll cough up the $$ and get towed.
When I got home from work Rex tells me that he bribed Ry with candy if he found the keys. Ry understands that he wants CANDY and thats about it. He knows how to find something if he knows where it is, but he doesnt know how to look for something that's lost. I decide to retrace my steps a bit and remembered packing the boys' bag of clothes for their week at daycare. I opened Ry's shirt drawer and I THINK I hear a jingle of keys... but nope not in that drawer, but I have HOPE. The next drawer I go to is his sock drawer and lo and behold there they are. I have never been happier to see my keys before in my LIFE. I'm so lucky to have looked in there because since I had already packed their bag for the week, I had no need to go in their sock drawer. And who knows when the next time I would've gone in there because the weekends are when I do laundry so I usually just grab the socks fresh out of the dryer. Rylan was upset that I had found them and he wanted to re-hide them so he could "find" them again and get some candy.

Ice Cream for Dinner?
This morning we set out planning to go on a walk to get some ice cream after lunch and naps, but ended up not leaving the house until 5:30. Since we couldnt just have ice cream for dinner (Daddy said not me, I'm fine eating ice cream for dinner) went to have dinner at a mexican restaurant next to "ice cream house" (Queen Bee Ice Cream on Florence in Redwood City, CA) So we ate dinner, got our ice cream (I got coconut, SO good, Ry got orange sherbet, and Rex got Khalua) On the ride home (Ry and Colton in the double stroller) Ry had his back to me, so I couldnt see the mess he was making with his cone. Ry calls out to me and says "I need more ice cream!" I peeked around the stroller and sure enough he had eaten the entire ice cream, cone and all. I said to him, "you ate it all! we don't have any more" and he cried, "but I need some to take home!!!" surprisingly enough he had a very small mess.

08/16/11
I went to get a massage and Ry asked me "where you going?" I told him I was going to get a massage, he said "what's that?" I said, "a back rub, do you want one?" he ran away and said "nooooo!"
When I got home from my massage he said "I wanna see!!" I asked "what do you want to see?" He said "you back!", I turned around and showed him my back and he said "I like you new back rub"
Today all four of us were playing and wrestling on the floor in the boys' room. Ry was getting a little too rowdy so I put him in a leg lock and started spanking him on the diaper in a playful way. I let him go and he was MAD, but he thought that Rex was the one spanking him. He shouted, "I DON'T LIKE THAT DADDY! DON'T SPANK ME!" Rex laughed and said, "I didnt do it your mom did it!" Ry smiles sweetly and puts his arm around me and says in his sweet little boy voice "I don't like when you spank me mommy."
Rex has been working on our sprinkler system and put it on a timer. To access the wires he had to crawl under the house and he found a bunch of insulation that was shoved in a corner. He pulled it out and tossed it against the wall. Ry saw the insulation and asked "Is that a sheep daddy?"

7/30/11
Ry walked up to his daddy and asked (extremely concerned and with a total straight face) "you have poo poo Daddy?" LOL I guess Rex needs a shower
Today I asked Rex if my shorts were too short. He said they were fine. Ry said to me "where you pants mommy?" I said "I'm wearing shorts buddy" he shook his head dissapprovingly and said "no"
rex and Ry are arguing. Rex is asking "who's the boss?" Ry says "Mommy is!" Rex, "who?" Ry, "Mommy!" Rex, "WHO??" Ry, "MOMMY!!!!!!" Rex"no she isnt!" Ry, "YES SHE IS!!!" smart boy
Colton woke up about 30 min after I put Ry to bed, apparently Ry wasn't fully asleep. I happened to be wearing a short nightgown and sat on the couch in their room to nurse C. Ry sat up in his bed, looked at me and sleepily asked "you a princess mommy?" "yes baby I am" He's not used to seeing me in a nightgown I guess.
My sister Erica slept over on the couch. When Ry woke up he went to see her and told her "on Saturday, we took a BIG airplane to disneyland and it was scary and we went on a rollercoaster and it went like this" he made big circles in the air with his finger. But no sadly we did not go to disneyland on saturday, and no roller coaster either/

Rylan's first cooking experience!
I got the recipe from my friend Jen
| Ingredients: 2LBS of Ore-Ida Tater Tots 1 Can Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soup(include one can of water) 8oz. Sour Cream 8oz. Shredded Cheese 1/2 C of melted butter 1 medium Onion (optional) Sun Chips (original flavor) Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 2. Combine Soup, Sour Cream, Cheese, Onion and Melted Butter. Mix Well! 3.Spread Tots in one layer in a Lasagna Pan 4. Pour Mixtures over Tots. Try to spread as evenly as possible. 5. Bake for one hour 6. ENJOY!!! I measured out the ingredients and had Ry dump them in a bowl and mix them up. After that I poured it into a pan and had him put the tater tots in one by one. (I dont pour the mix over the tots like the recipe says because it gets mushy) When all the tots were in I took snack sized sunchips and told him to crush them in the bag. This wasnt the greatest idea... He took the bag and squeezed it so it popped and sunchips flew all over the place. |

my funny boys
Me: "are you done eating?"
Ry: "yeah"
Me: "can I eat your zucchini?" (this usually works to get him to finish whatever he's eating because he doesn't like to share)
Ry: "yeah Mommy, you can eat mykini"
I sent Rex to Target with a pretty big list. On the list was Dishwashing detergent, and dish soap. To clarify I put (powder) next to the detergent and (liquid) next to the soap. He came home with both liquid and powder dishwashing detergent. When I asked him why he bought two of the same thing he said "I knew I was gonna get $h!t for that.." ... but honey, if you KNEW, why did you do it in the first place?
Ry eating ribs; "Don't eat the bones, bones are for dogs only"
Ry: "yeah"

I got to donate my milk!!
Not only did I do my good deed for the week, but I now have space in my freezer. I ended up finding a girl on a Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/HM4HBCA She lives about an hour away from me and I got to give her 135 bags of milk (675 oz). It's crazy to think that's over 5 gallons. When you think of it in ounces its not as "real" but when you imagine those giant milk jugs that you see at the grocery store... it kinda creeps me out and makes me feel like a dairy cow. And for those of you who are going to say something, I know that I'm not supposed to store milk in the door of the freezer but 1) I had no choice I ran out of space 2) it wasn't there long 3) I'm not storing it there anymore.
At first I was scared to donate my milk. I had read a few websites about milk donation and they all went on to say its something thats very personal and not everyone can do it. I was afraid that for some reason I'd have a breakdown and become suddenly posessive over my milk and not want to share. Actually when our freezer started getting so full Rex said that we should just throw some away, I nearly had a panic attack. All that hard work for nothing??? I don't think so. I needed to give it to some other baby that needed it. I can't say that donating milk has made me feel like such a great person because, well... I dont know, I'm pumping anyway for my own baby, I just so happen to pump out a lot more than he needs, so I might as well just share it right?
