7/30/11

Ry walked up to his daddy and asked (extremely concerned and with a total straight face) "you have poo poo Daddy?" LOL I guess Rex needs a shower

Today I asked Rex if my shorts were too short. He said they were fine. Ry said to me "where you pants mommy?" I said "I'm wearing shorts buddy" he shook his head dissapprovingly and said "no"

rex and Ry are arguing. Rex is asking "who's the boss?" Ry says "Mommy is!" Rex, "who?" Ry, "Mommy!" Rex, "WHO??" Ry, "MOMMY!!!!!!" Rex"no she isnt!" Ry, "YES SHE IS!!!" smart boy

Colton woke up about 30 min after I put Ry to bed, apparently Ry wasn't fully asleep. I happened to be wearing a short nightgown and sat on the couch in their room to nurse C. Ry sat up in his bed, looked at me and sleepily asked "you a princess mommy?" "yes baby I am" He's not used to seeing me in a nightgown I guess.

My sister Erica slept over on the couch. When Ry woke up he went to see her and told her "on Saturday, we took a BIG airplane to disneyland and it was scary and we went on a rollercoaster and it went like this" he made big circles in the air with his finger. But no sadly we did not go to disneyland on saturday, and no roller coaster either/

Rylan's first cooking experience!

Today I was cooking dinner and Ry woke up from his nap in a horrible mood. He cried because he wanted to help me cook. All I had left to do was stir and reduce the sauce which was boiling away on the stove, so obviously he couldn't help with that. I had just finished making mashed potatoes and noticed that the sour cream was expiring soon. So I thought, what can I have Ry make with this sour cream? Answer: tater tot casserole.

I got the recipe from my friend Jen

Ingredients:

2LBS of Ore-Ida Tater Tots
1 Can Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soup(include one can of water)
8oz. Sour Cream
8oz. Shredded Cheese
1/2 C of melted butter
1 medium Onion (optional)
Sun Chips (original flavor)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375
2. Combine Soup, Sour Cream, Cheese, Onion and Melted Butter. Mix Well!
3.Spread Tots in one layer in a Lasagna Pan
4. Pour Mixtures over Tots. Try to spread as evenly as possible.
5. Bake for one hour
6. ENJOY!!!

I measured out the ingredients and had Ry dump them in a bowl and mix them up. After that I poured it into a pan and had him put the tater tots in one by one. (I dont pour the mix over the tots like the recipe says because it gets mushy) When all the tots were in I took snack sized sunchips and told him to crush them in the bag. This wasnt the greatest idea... He took the bag and squeezed it so it popped and sunchips flew all over the place.

my funny boys

Me: "are you done eating?"
Ry: "yeah"
Me: "can I eat your zucchini?" (this usually works to get him to finish whatever he's eating because he doesn't like to share)
Ry: "yeah Mommy, you can eat mykini"

I sent Rex to Target with a pretty big list. On the list was Dishwashing detergent, and dish soap. To clarify I put (powder) next to the detergent and (liquid) next to the soap. He came home with both liquid and powder dishwashing detergent. When I asked him why he bought two of the same thing he said "I knew I was gonna get $h!t for that.." ... but honey, if you KNEW, why did you do it in the first place?

I got to donate my milk!!

Not only did I do my good deed for the week, but I now have space in my freezer. I ended up finding a girl on a Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/HM4HBCA She lives about an hour away from me and I got to give her 135 bags of milk (675 oz). It's crazy to think that's over 5 gallons. When you think of it in ounces its not as "real" but when you imagine those giant milk jugs that you see at the grocery store... it kinda creeps me out and makes me feel like a dairy cow. And for those of you who are going to say something, I know that I'm not supposed to store milk in the door of the freezer but 1) I had no choice I ran out of space 2) it wasn't there long 3) I'm not storing it there anymore.

At first I was scared to donate my milk. I had read a few websites about milk donation and they all went on to say its something thats very personal and not everyone can do it. I was afraid that for some reason I'd have a breakdown and become suddenly posessive over my milk and not want to share. Actually when our freezer started getting so full Rex said that we should just throw some away, I nearly had a panic attack. All that hard work for nothing??? I don't think so. I needed to give it to some other baby that needed it. I can't say that donating milk has made me feel like such a great person because, well... I dont know, I'm pumping anyway for my own baby, I just so happen to pump out a lot more than he needs, so I might as well just share it right?
